Kristin Dexnis is the artistic director of DeXdance.  As a proud native of New Jersey, she graduated magna cum laude from Monmouth University and attended The Ailey School in NYC.  Kristin was awarded a full scholarship to the Paul Taylor Intensive the summer of 2006.  She’s studied choreography under the direction of Neil Greenburg, Jessica Danser, Alexandra Beller, and Sara Pearson/Patrik Widrig Dance.  Ms. Dexnis also attended choreography retreats at Bearnstow in Mt. Vernon, ME under Claire Porter and Ruth Grauert. In addition to dancing with her company, Ms. Dexnis had the pleasure of working and performing with: High Frequency Wavelengths Dance Company, Geraldine Cardell, Charly Wenzel & Dancers, Gehring Dance Theatre, Jessica Danser/ dansfolk, T. Lion Dance/Body Stories, and Germaul Barnes/ Viewsic Expressions.  She founded DeXdance in 2003, and has since created over 15 works performed in traditional to non-traditional spaces.  Ms. Dexnis is also the artistic director of Basically Ballet Studio in NJ where she enjoys educating the community about modern dance as well as teaching ballet and modern.  She is on the faculty of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, and is a professor of dance at Monmouth University.

Corey Bliss

Corey Bliss graduated cum laude from the Ailey/Fordham Bachelor of Fine Arts program in May 2007, with a minor in Communication and Media Studies  She began training with Nancy Turano at the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble in 1995.  Corey frequently performs with the Ensemble as a guest artist in its annual production of The Nutcracker as well as its other repertory works.  She has worked with and performed works by many renowned choreographers, such as Alvin Ailey, David Parsons, Seán Curran, Fabrice Lamego, Eduardo Vilaro, Kyle Ahmed-Bukhari, Jean Emile, Nancy Turano, Kenneth Larson, Earl Mosley, Francisco Martinez, and Vernard Gilmore.  In the summer of 2004, Corey attended Kazuko Hirabayashi’s Summer Dance International in Burgos, Spain and performed in several venues in and around the city.  Corey apprenticed with Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre for their 2006-2007 season.  She is currently on faculty at The Ailey School’s First Steps Program and at Yvette Studio in Cranford, NJ, in addition to serving as Company Manager and Assistant Director of Education and Outreach for the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble. She is also choreographer Jacqulyn Buglisi’s personal administrative assistant. She is honored to make her professional dance debut with DeXdance.

Kristin Henry is originally from Norwood, MA. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Roger Williams University with a B.A. in Dance Performance Studies in 2007. Since moving to NYC she has worked with Troika Ranch, Dura Mater, Tiffany Mills Company, Monica Bill Barnes Company and DeXdance. Since joining T. Lion Dance/BodyStories in October 2007, she has been pleased to perform all over the city, in Maine, and in France. She is also a certified yoga instructor through Exhale Spa.
